Frequently asked questions

Why Do we not accept insurance?

We've chosen not to accept health insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare. This allows us to provide you with the best possible care by spending more time with you and focusing on a holistic approach to your health.
Instead of having your treatment options restricted to what insurance will approve. We can instead focus on what you actually need to get well again.
Our Payment Options
Because we don't have contracts with insurance companies, we offer fixed-cost service rates and annual programs to help you manage costs.
We are partnered with Cherry for monthly payment plans.
We accept HSA/FSA.
We can provide you with a detailed statement to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement or to meet your deductible.
Most lab work or imaging can still be processed through your insurance plan.
At The Center for Intentional Health, we believe in creating personalized treatment plans using a variety of effective methods. This involves actively listening to your concerns, partnering with you to set goals, and thoroughly analyzing your case. We are committed to researching medical literature to ensure you receive a unique, well-informed treatment plan.
Are there Other Payment and Coverage Options?
While some services may not be covered, there are other ways to manage costs:
Lab work and imaging: We have negotiated discounts for clients on labs and diagnostic imaging (like MRIs and X-rays). Most diagnostic imaging is usually covered by insurance.
Out-of-network benefits: We can provide you with an itemized statement (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement or to meet your deductible.
Health spending accounts: You can use your Health Spending Account (HSA/FSA) to pay for services.
Financing: We have partnered with healthcare financing companies and other organizations that offer alternatives to insurance to help you invest in your health.

How are treatment plans developed and chosen?
Our unique programs are developed to address your specific needs and questions about wellness. We use protocols from respected organizations like the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and Lifestyle Medicine. To ensure we're providing the best possible care, we constantly review the latest research and scientific journals.
How is Functional Medicine Different?
In a Functional Medicine approach, you and your doctor work together to identify the root cause of your symptoms by looking at your body as a whole system. This is different from conventional medicine, which often treats individual symptoms as separate problems. Functional Medicine focuses on you as a person and aims to achieve positive health and energy, not just the absence of disease. By listening to your story, your practitioner can create a treatment plan that is unique to your individual needs.

How does Functional Medicine work with Primary Care ?
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, our provider can act as a specialist or consultant to work alongside your existing primary care provider. The goal is to determine the cause of your health conditions and find effective treatment options.
This collaborative approach improves communication and care between all of your healthcare providers, ensuring you receive the best possible treatment.

How does Concierge care differ?
We offer a different approach to healthcare called Direct Primary Care. This model is designed to give you more time with your provider and easier access to care.
Some of the benefits of our plans include:
Same-day appointments and little to no waiting time in the office.
Direct access to your provider via phone and text.
Longer appointments to fully discuss your health.
No co-pays for office visits.
A strong focus on preventive and patient-centered care.
Convenient online services for consultations and prescription refills.
Personalized care and a plan designed just for you.
We believe that a provider should have the time to do their best work. While providers in conventional practices often have over 2,000 patients, our model allows us to manage only a few hundred. This means we can truly focus on your health.
We offer several plans to fit most budgets. To get started, we'll discuss your health goals and create a plan together to help you get the results you want. Call us at 913-295-9393 to schedule your first consultation.

Why did you chose Functional Medicine?
Having worked alongside Dr. Jane Murray, a highly respected physician in Functional Medicine, our practitioner was inspired to change her approach. She strongly believes in this method, especially when it's combined with integrative therapies that help clients get lasting results.
Our practitioner chose Functional Medicine because it allows her to dedicate the necessary time to each client. This approach focuses on making thoughtful, effective decisions from the very beginning. This helps clients feel better and more confident in their health journey.
We believe it's better to take the time to get things right at the start. This prevents the need for multiple expensive and unnecessary appointments, tests, and referrals that can happen when there isn't enough time to truly listen to a patient's story.

Are personal information & transactions secure?
Yes, your personal information and transactions are secure.
We use high-quality medical software and secure systems to protect your data. Your Patient Portal, appointment scheduling, emails, texts, telehealth appointments, and payments are all secured as required by HIPAA, a federal law that protects your health information.
For products you purchase through us, you will buy directly from the manufacturer. This ensures faster service, shipping discounts, and a secure transaction.
